March 3rd deals...

I bought 35 boxes of fruit snacks this morning at Albertson's. They are on sale for $ 1.00 a box. Then I used 7 different internet printable coupons and did 7 seperate trnsactions. Plus for every 5 you bought, you received at $ 3.50 catalina! Super cheap fruit snacks!

1st transaction looked like this:
Bought 5 boxes= $ 5.00
Used 2 .50 coupons
New total/OOP= $ 4.00
Recieved $ 3.50 catalina good on my next purchace)

2nd transaction:
bought 5 more boxes= $ 5.00
- 2 .50 internet coupons
New total = $ 4.00
- $ 3.50 catalina from trans # 1

(and on and on for as many transactions as you would like to do. I did 3 at a time, took my stuff to the car and repeated. I ran out of coupons, so my average per box is slightly higher than the .10 a box, but I wanted to stock up, so it was fine that I didn't have any more coupons to use towards the end.)

Meatballs...

I have to say I have wanted to vomit about 100 times since I've been dealing with all this meat. I am NOT a meat girl, I've never baked a turkey and I almost died cooking one of those tiny whole chickens a long time ago. I hate raw meat with a passion, so this goes to show what a labor of love this has been and what I'm willing to do to save money! I found a super yummy meatball reciepe I had to share. yes, this was my first time EVER making meatballs, so I'm really proud of myself!
2 lbs of hamburger
1 box of Stove Top Stuffing
1 cup water
1 package of onion soup mix
2 eggs

Roll into balls, cook at 350 until done. (My Mom bakes hers on a cookie sheet and places a pan/cookie sheet underneath it to catch all the greese. I thought that was a great idea! )

Then, I placed them in a ziplock bag and froze them! Super yummy!

What do you do with 60 pounds of hamburger???

When ever I find a great deal on hamburger, I brown it, put a family size serving in a ziplock bag & freeze it! When I'm making tacos for dinner, I take a bag out, put it in the microwave, add a little water & my seasoning and it's ready to go in minutes!I hate spending a lot of time cooking, so this REALLY helps cut down my time in the kitchen.

Feb 2nd deals... 50 pounds of hamburger...

Here's the 50 pounds of hamburger! ( 10 packs of the 5 pounders. I left them in the bag because I didn't want the bloody mess on my counter. Oh gross.))Oh I can't wait to brown it all! (Yuck. Gag. I also went to old Navy to use my $ 10.00 coupon and picked up the dress I've been coveting, I only paid $ 2.50 for it! And I picked up Valentines socks for .24 each for the girls to give away in their valentine treat bags.

I also cut Trav's hair tonight! I saved us $ 12.00!

(Its a long story, but about 7 years ago I attempted to cut his hair. # 1, it was WAY too long and I was using the clippers, which scare the cr*p out of me, and I got a little carried away shaving off clumps of his hair. so after about 3 seconds into it I said, " Oh, oh." Let me tell you, no half naked man in the bath tub wants to hear his wife say those 2 words while holding the clippers that are shaving his hair off! So, I called my neighbor to help fix the damage I had done, she came right over, assessed the horrible job and had him looking hot in no time! (she used sissors, not the scary clippers.) Anyway, I've been cutting Tristin's hair for about 6 years now and every once in awhile I would ask Trav if he wanted me to "try agian", but he always kindly said, "No thanks, I'll go get it cut." I wasn't too offended, I just hated him spending $ 12.00!!! to get one. So last week he asked if I wanted to cut his hair and I said, "Sure, if I can use sissors!" So, to make a long story long- I DID IT, and he LIKED it! I'm great without the clippers, anyone need a hair cut???
